Data Destruction
The single most common concern of our clients is the destruction of
their personal data from their hard drives. We use state of the art
software to overwrite the Hard Drives. Before we ship them to various
projects around the world.
· Industry standard of data erasure of hard drives.
· All data is removed permanently (impossible to recover data).
· If requested we can remove and physically destroy the hard drive.
When you send us details of the equipment to be removed we will
arrange an equally suitable date and time for collection. We will take
away all the equipment detailed in the Equipment Collection Schedule.
Donations from individual PC owners as well as to donations from
larger organisations are valued and have helped us immensely to provide
a better future for many people.
You can drop off your computer personally at our London Based drop
off point and at our Greater Manchester based drop off point.

You can also use a courier service e.g. service available online with
whom you may arrange delivery of your donation.
Datawipe :
All computers received by The Isaar Trust will be datawiped as
standard.
Donating your computers to The Isaar Trust guarantees compliance with
all UK legislation, including the WEEE directive, Data Protection Act
and Environment Act.
We can provide solutions to major corporations, including blue-chip
companies and major multinationals, local authorities and central
government departments and educational institutions.
· We are a charity that ultimately wants to better the lives of the poor
and needy in third world developing countries.
· We work on a not for profit basis ensuring that what you give us
goes directly to those that need it.
· We use software that meets all recognised international data
destruction standards.
· We use recycling facilities that guarantee 0% of unusable
equipment ends up in landfill
· 100% of donated computers that pass our stringent quality tests are
provided to not-for-profit organisations in the developing world
You have an obligation under the Data Protection Act 1998 to
ensure that confidential data about employees or customers is not
disclosed without the consent of the individual concerned
All donated computers received by The Isaar Trust are wiped using
software, which guarantees the unrecoverable removal of 100%
of data. This free-of-charge service means that you can be sure that
none of your data can be retrieved and that they are fully compliant with
the Data Protection Act. Hard disks that are faulty or cannot be wiped of
data are physically destroyed using the sledge hammer technique.
The software we use is widely accepted as the industry-leading data
destruction software. That meets all recognised international data
destruction standards, including standards set by the UK's
Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG) and
by the US Department of Defence
The Isaar Trust accepts any working Pentium 3 and Pentium 4
computers and laptops, as well as 15" and 17" monitors. We also
welcome peripherals and spare parts including laptop power adaptors,
power cables, keyboards and mice.
